The College of Science and Technology (CST) participated in a training session with the Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM) on November 17th 2023 at the office of CST. The purpose was to share and exchange information about the collaborative program between the two institutions.

Previously, on November 6th 2023, representatives from CST conducted a working visit and signed a strategic collaboration agreement with NIM, focusing on six cooperative training and academic exchange programs, encompassing:
- Diploma & Advanced diploma in Management
- Diploma & Advanced diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management
- Diploma & Advanced diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Subsequently, representatives from both institutions organized the first training session to lay the foundation for the project and initiate a strong and long-lasting collaboration.
During the session, Mr. Craig Albrightson provided an overview of the six collaborative training programs, covering program structure, student benefits (such as internship opportunities for the Advanced diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management), study pathways, admission requirements, and documentation and admission processes.

Regarding admission requirements, candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of enrollment, have completed high school education, and possessed an IELTS certificate with a minimum score of 5.5 (or equivalent). Additionally, candidates without IELTS certificate can fulfill English proficiency requirements through a free English proficiency test conducted by NIM.
Mr. Craig Albrightson also shared academic information and documents, exclusively provided to CST as a strategic partner of NIM. These included academic and training materials, assessment and examination regulations, diverse teaching methods, the NIM online learning management system (LMS), teaching quality assessment and assurance methods (for both teachers and students), student satisfaction assessments (regarding teachers, programs, or student services), and more.
Annually, the NIM Academic Board evaluates training programs and personal development activities by collecting feedback from students, teachers, and consulting experts in each field. This ensures that the programs maintain a practical and continually innovative approach, align with real-world situations.
Respecting and seriously considering the feedback from the partner representatives, Mr. Craig Albrightson addressed and discussed various potential solutions with the heads of departments and faculties at CST. These solutions encompassed scenarios where candidates have yet met the English proficiency requirements, internship and employment opportunities during or after program completion, opportunities for further studies in Singapore, and criteria and procedures for employing teachers, among others.
Through this training session, the project implementation team for the training and academic exchange collaboration between NIM and CST gained a comprehensive understanding of the program and the overall spirit of the project. At the conclusion of the training, representatives from both sides expressed sincere gratitude and a shared desire for continuous and sustained exchange and training throughout the project.

Additionally, it anticipates unveiling more meaningful programs in the future, aiming to maximize the potential of the younger generation of Vietnam – the future leaders of the nation. The strategic collaboration with the Nanyang Institute marks a significant milestone in the journey that the College of Technology is currently pursuing.
