Office of Student Affairs

FUNCTION

Office of Student Affairs is a functional unit of the College of Science and Technology, responsible for: advising and assisting the Rector in managing students, Alumni and Fellow students (collectively referred to as student work).

MISSION

Student Affairs Department performs the following tasks:

a. The ideological and political work of student

  • Organizing activities to raise political-ideological consciousness, thoroughly grasping and propagating the Party’s guidelines, guidelines and policies, laws of the Government and the University; traditional education, moral training, sense of organization, civilized lifestyle for students;
  • Capturing and synthesizing the ideological situation of students, promptly reporting to the Party Committee and the Board of Management to take timely handling measures;
  • Organize student citizenship weeks at the beginning of the course  at the beginning of the course and the beginning of each school year; dialogue activities between Board of Director  and student representatives.

b. Student management

  • Organizing the opening, closing, and awarding ceremonies;
  • Managing student records, and student cards; managing internal and external students; Receiving students, handling administrative tasks related to students; Handling procedures for students transferring schools, stopping and dropping out; Notifying students’ learning and training results to their families;
  • Establishing collection norms and plans to collect tuition fees and other service fees for students;
  • Launching and organizing emulation movements; evaluating the results of training, emulation, commendation, and discipline of students; Implementing regimes, policies, and scholarships for students; Managing non-budget scholarship sources, and procedures for student loans from banks.
  • Counseling and supporting students when having psycho-social problems; organizing the implementation of school health, medical examination and treatment, and insurance for students. Organize career counseling and start-up activities; consulting, job introduction, culture, arts, physical training, and sports.
  • Organizing student delegations to participate in national and international competitions, student exchange activities; Management of international students.

c. Alumni Affairs

  • Employment survey, network development and alumni database management;
  • Developing alumni resources that support student and College activities.
