Passion, enthusiasm and responsibility are the phrases that the College of Science and Technology’s students normally use to describe Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan, a lecturer of Automotive Technology Faculty and Deputy Secretary of the College of Science and Technology’s Youth Union.

If you ask any student of the College of Science and Technology, surely no one will not know Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan, a 36-year-old man who is in charge of staging all small to large activities in the college. Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan in the eyes of his students is a lecturer who is always cheerful, talented and vibrant.
During many years of studying and teaching generations of students, he always listens to understand his students. Right from the first days standing on the podium, the young lecturer tried to quickly immerse himself in the pedagogical environment.

“I am a lucky person to be able to do the right job and find the right environment to develop my career. Therefore, I am always eager to explore new things to innovate teaching methods and bring the most engaging and attractive lessons to the students.” Mr. Tuan shared.
Not only fulfilling his professional duties, but as Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, lecturer Pham Ngoc Tuan plays a remarkable role in facilitating the development of the Youth Union’s movements. He works with the Executive Board of the Youth Union to develop a series of creative activity plans throughout each and every school year, actively participates in and encourages the College’s students to participate in activities with the theme of giving back, showing gratitude to teachers, raising charity fund and scholarships for disadvantaged students to overcome difficulties, organizing voluntary activities for every youth union member in the college, and supporting students in their first days of a new school year.
The youthfulness of the teaching profession and the union activities makes Mr. Tuan feel not only affectionate towards his students, but also fulfilled in his life and present job. Talking about his memories of teaching at the College of Science and Technology, Mr. Tuan confided that “Every time the enrollment season comes, I join the Executive Committee of the College’s Youth Union to organize activities to support the newly admitted students in their demand for finding a rental room near the College for example. My personality is also quite laid-back, comfortable, maybe that’s why some parents mistook me for a motorbike taxi driver. It felt awkward and funny at the same time. This is probably the first “occupational accident” in my life as a lecturer that I will always remember.”

“Thanks to that simple, friendly and down-to-earth lifestyle, the distance between a lecturer like me and fellow students seems to disappear. Students always come to me, boldly talk to me about their problems in study and life, like a friend or a brother. Up to now, I can confidently say that I understand what students want and need, and accordingly know how to deliver the lecture and make conversations with students to better understand their perspectives and situations.”
With tireless efforts and hard work, Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan has made invaluable contributions to the success of the Automotive Technology Facility in completing all the tasks assigned and increasing the College’s overall achievements. He personally received many certificates of merit from the Education and Training sector, Trade Union organizations, and People’s Committees at all levels, with the highlights being the Certificate of Merit awarded by the Prime Minister recognizing and praising his contributions during his work. This is the motivation for Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan to continue to dedicate himself to nurture the future of the country and to successfully complete the tasks of a trade union cadre.

Despite having achieved so many outstanding achievements, Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan is always humble and simple, and at the same time constantly strives, learns and improves his professional qualifications as well as his capacity as a union official so that he can effectively effectively perform the tasks and missions assigned by the leaders of the College and Youth Union. Indeed, Mr. Tuan is truly a role model of youth in the new era of “Clear mind – Bright mind – Great ambition”.
