1. Training Objectives
1.1. General objectives:
Training technical personnel for production and service with Diploma of air-conditioning and refrigeration engineering to equip learners with professional knowledge and ability to practice the work of air-conditioning and refrigeration engineering in industrial, commercial and civil; capable of working independently and organizing teamwork; along with creativity; the ability to apply techniques/technologies to work; problem solving skills in professional practice; professional ethics, professional conscience, sense of discipline, industrial manners; and to provide graduates opportunities to find jobs or continue their studies to the higher level to meet the requirements for the industrialization and modernization of the country.
1.2. Specific objectives:
* Professional knowledge and skills to achieve:
– Knowledge
+ Ability to analyze the nature of operating principles, general structural principles of the refrigeration/air conditioning system and point out the specific characteristics of different types and manufacturers
+ Demonstrate the operation, maintenance and installation procedures for small or industrial refrigeration systems, split/central air conditioning systems.
+ Identify signs of malfunction, procedures for checking, repairing, replacing units, sub-assemblies of the machine or the whole system.
+ Ability to analyze technical characteristics, compare the specifications of the units, sub-assemblies, equipment in small or industrial refrigeration systems, split/central air conditioning systems; Identify units, sub-assemblies, and equivalent replaceable equipment.
+ Demonstrate the method of calculating heat balance; preliminary method of calculating the cooling capacity of a central air conditioning and refrigeration system.
+ Ability to organize groups in operation, maintenance and repair activities as well as market research activities and new technologies exploration.
+ Ability to guide junior workers and subworkers.
+ Ability to use safety equipment in the profession; give first aid to people electrocuted, frozen, or fallen from a height.
– Skills
+ Perform the tasks of operation, maintenance, and installation of small or industrial refrigeration systems, split/central air conditioning systems according to the correct procedures and safety for workers and equipment.
+ Identify signs and determine the causes of malfunction; outline the repair process; be able to repair common malfunction of both electrical and refrigeration parts; replace damaged units and sub-assemblies; repair control circuits and other complex malfunctions in small or split air conditioning systems.
+ Restore the standard working state of small or industrial refrigeration systems, split/central air conditioning systems.
+ Ability to calculate and select equipment, make installation drawings of small refrigeration systems or split air conditioning systems.
+ Organize and manage the activities of the installation/repair workgroup; Be able to guide junior workers and subworkers at work.
+ Have good communication skills, analyze the market of Electrical – Refrigeration products; directing the activities of themselves and their groups and groups.
+ Be able to use the right technical safety equipment, give first aid to the victim when there is a danger in electrical/cold operation
+ Self-study methodically: Look up, read and research to acquire knowledge.

+ Be able to read and comprehend English documents in the field of study.
– Information technology :
+ Meet the ICDL standard computer skills; Proficient in the use of popular software applications such as Word, Excel, etc.

1.3 Job position after graduation:
Students in Diploma of air-conditioning and refrigeration engineering are fully equipped with general education knowledge, industry foundations; profession knowledge, with high practical skills that meet the needs of the company and society.
Graduates are able to operate, maintain, repair, improve and upgrade air conditioning systems and equipment; to learn, develop, and apply techniques in refrigeration for industrial and civil use. With the Diploma of air-conditioning and refrigeration engineering certificate, graduates can easily find positions in companies, factories, production and business establishments related to refrigeration equipment; or repairing centers, facilities for civil air conditioners, or teaching at these specialized training institutions.
