1. Training Objectives
1.1. General objectives
Diploma of Automotive Technology aims to provide learners with the essential skills required for a career in the automotive technology profession, underpinned by a strong foundation of professional ethics, conscientiousness, discipline, and physical well-being that are integral to the industry. This training enables individuals to seek and secure job opportunities independently. As learners engage in the education process, they actively discuss and enhance their knowledge and skills within the realm of Automotive Technology. The program also fosters a proactive work attitude aligned with industrial standards, emphasizing adherence to processes and safety protocols and achieving heightened productivity and efficiency.
Upon graduation, students are equipped with specialized proficiencies in the Automotive Technology sector, enabling them to effectively address challenges in both the specific realm of Automotive Technology and the broader domain of Transport Mechanical Engineering.
1.2. Specific objectives
– Knowledge:
+ Apply fundamental technical knowledge to acquire professional knowledge in Automotive Technology;
+ Present the structure and operate principles of systems and structures on automobiles;
+ Understand how to read technical drawings and look up technical documents specialized in automobiles;
+ Explain the contents of the work in the process of disassembling, assembling, checking, adjusting, maintaining and repairing automobiles;
+ Present the criteria, standards for quality assessment and test methods of each type of detail and system in automobiles;
+ Present the operating principles of electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems of modern automobiles;
+ Explain the methods of fault diagnosis of components and systems in automobiles;
+ Present the essential requirements and steps to be taken when setting up the process of inspection, maintenance and repair of automobiles;
+ Present the principles, operating methods and scope of use of equipment in the automotive technology profession;
+ State the contents and meanings of industrial safety and hygiene techniques;
+ State the content and fundamental principles in production management and organization.
– Skills:
+ Accurate selection and proficient use of tools and equipment for disassembly, assembly, measurement, and inspection in the Automotive Technology profession;
+ Carry out disassembly, assembly, inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of basic structures and systems in automobiles in accordance with strict procedures and ensure occupational safety;
+ Able to inspect, diagnose and fix failures of electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems in automobiles;
+ Establish a process for checking, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing automobiles to ensure economic, technical and safety criteria;
+ Prepare production plan; organize and manage production activities meeting technical standards, safety standards, and industrial hygiene standards;
+ Able to communicate in English at work; use computers to look up professional documents and edit documents;
+ Able to perform basic jobs of cold workers, welders, and electricians for the auto repair process;
+ Capable of absorbing and transferring new technologies in the automotive field;
+ Training and fostering knowledge and skills for lower-level workers.
– Politics and ethics education:
+ Understand the elemental issues of the Party’s line, Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s thought, and the State’s Constitution and Laws;
+ Have a sense of self-discipline to abide by labor discipline, have technical labor, have high quality and productivity;
+ Actively study and practice ethics to improve qualifications and meet the requirements of the job.
– Physical and National defense education:
+ Regularly exercise to have enough health to study and work for a long time;
+ Have basic knowledge and skills on military work and defense participation.
1.3. Job position after graduation
After graduation, students will do:
– Repairmen at automobile maintenance and repair factories;
– Technical experts at auto transport companies;
– Service consultants at sales agents and after-sales service centers of automobile manufacturers;
– Workers at automotive parts and assembly factories;
– Lecturers impart practical training within vocational education establishments.

– Volume of general subjects: 465 hours
– Volume of core modules and subjects: 2040 hours
– Theoretical volume: 745 hours; Practice, industrial attachment, experiment: 1760 hours.
